Fashion loves a comeback story, and so do we. Yesterday, Lagardère Group announced Heart Media Group, helmed by Olivier Burlot, as the new licensing partner for ELLE in Malaysia. And for the first time ever, the title will be published in Bahasa Melayu. This announcement comes hot off the heels of ELLE Singapore’s highly-successful launch issue fronted by Singaporean actress Chen Yixin—which sold out at Books Kinokuniya within hours of its launch in Singapore.

“This venture with Heart Media Group, a solid and trustworthy partner, will enable us to push further the development of ELLE as a 360° brand in Malaysia. I am confident that ELLE’s universal values, its unique point of view on fashion, beauty, culture, society, and lifestyle, together with its highest standards of journalism, will continue to inspire women in Malaysia and resonate with them,” said François Coruzzi, CEO of ELLE International Licenses.

“We are excited to bring ELLE back to Malaysia. This title is a strong addition to our portfolio, enabling us to expand Heart Media’s offerings and meet the market demand for international and high-quality brands aimed specifically at women,” said Burlot. “We will create content across print and digital and—by leveraging our extensive database of our audience in Malaysia—offer plenty of unique and engaging event opportunities for our brand partners.”

With the goal of producing the highest-quality content, ELLE Malaysia will be led by a Bahasa Melayu-speaking team which will further enrich its readers’ experience with a host of daily-updated multimedia content across fashion, beauty, lifestyle, culture, entertainment and watches and jewellery. Powered by a diverse, multi-talented and dynamic team, ELLE Malaysia’s online presence will echo the brand’s signature essence, offering daily news updates, reviews on the hottest topics, how-to guides and interviews.

“ELLE Malaysia is for intelligent women who love to be stylish in every aspect of their life while being an active participant of society,” said Burlot. “We are focused on further scaling a multi-channel brand and with top talents, from across the industry, to usher in the newest chapter of this iconic brand.”

The first issue of ELLE Malaysia is slated to launch in September 2024.
