Yuval Abraham and Rachel Szor on their new film interviewing Israeli military insiders on the vast, AI-assisted systems their sources say are being used to kill civilians in Gaza. They also talk about the political backlash against their documentary
Throughout the war in Gaza, the Israeli military has told its people – and the world – one thing: it does not deliberately kill civilians.
In a documentary by the Israeli filmmakers Yuval Abraham and Rachel Szor, Israeli military insiders detail the vast AI systems used to rain down strikes on Gaza, which have directly led to the slaughter of civilians. The film takes its name, NAZA, from the codeword used to count the number of civilian deaths deemed acceptable as collateral damage for every airstrike against suspected Hamas members. NAZA does not distinguish between women and men, adults and children, militants and civilians.
