The popular Mexican-inspired fast food chain unveiled its latest offering, a dairy-free nacho sauce, on Thursday, September 28, coinciding with the re-launch of Taco Bell’s beloved nacho fries.
Starting from Thursday, October 12, patrons will have the choice to indulge in vegan nacho sauce along with the iconic nacho fries, while supplies last, according to a press release from Taco Bell.
The vegan nacho sauce has received the “certified vegan” seal from the American Vegetarian Association, a prominent consumer food certification organization based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. This designation confirms that the sauce contains “no animal products,” as stated by Taco Bell.
Liz Matthews, the Global Chief Food Innovation Officer at Taco Bell, expressed enthusiasm about the reintroduction of Nacho Fries and the new Vegan Nacho Sauce, stating, “We’re thrilled to reintroduce Nacho Fries, now with a larger-than-life flair, and our beloved Vegan Nacho Sauce.
She emphasized Taco Bell’s dedication to offering delectable and appealing food choices for a diverse range of lifestyles, including vegans, flexitarians, and those looking to explore new culinary experiences.
The vegan nacho sauce will be available for a limited time at participating Taco Bell outlets across the nation.
In addition to the vegan nacho sauce, Taco Bell is launching a larger size of nacho fries priced at approximately $2.99. This larger size comes with the new vegan nacho sauce.
For those looking for a regular size portion of nacho fries with the vegan nacho sauce, it will retail for about $2.19.
According to Gallup, Inc., a global research firm specializing in consumer polling, about 1% of Americans identify as vegan, while 4% identify as vegetarian. Taco Bell’s innovative vegan offerings cater to this growing segment of health-conscious consumers.
